my new lens - nikon 50mm E Series

I got my new lens last week - a used Nikon 50 mm E series. I had been looking for a prime lens for quite some time now and considering my budget had decided to stick with a nikon 50mm 1.8D lens (was still worried about the whole manual focus fuss). The nikon 50mm AF lens does not auto-focus on my Nikon D40 - that would have anyway made me focus manually. So, I decided to go for a full manual lens where the lens does not meter too (the AF lens meters with D40). That would just mean an extra effort of taking a pic or two to adjust my shutter speed to make sure that there is enough light to shoot. I kept looking for such a lens on ebay. Last week I saw an old 50mm 1.8D E series lens on sale. I placed a bid for it and was outbid very shortly. I had lost one such good lens a few days ago. I was the highest bidder for that lens till the last minute. I kept refreshing the page to make sure that I was the highest bidder and was happy till I saw a message popping that I had been outbid by someone. By the time I entered an amount and clicked the Place Bid button, it was too late. I had lost it. So I decided to wait till the very last minute this time. Well, it worked. Maybe I gave the second highest bidder a chance to get relaxed and think that he had won the lens. But well.. :)
I spent the almost 2-3 hours shooting photos and experimenting with that lens the day i got it. I spent a few hours on the weekend too. Here is one of my favs from the weekend.
